Summary

Summary

Summary

An insightful biblical and conversational response from Dr. Tony Evans and his four children—Chrystal Evans Hurst, Priscilla Shirer, Anthony Evans, and Jonathan Evans—on how God uses the hard things of this life to draw us into a deeper faith in Him. Divine Disruption explores the many hardships we experience in life and how God breaks through with the power of hope. In the book, Dr. Tony Evans and his four children—Chrystal Evans Hurst, Priscilla Shirer, Anthony Evans, and Jonathan Evans—discuss their faith-shaking experiences: from the deep grief of losing six loved ones in less than two years' time, with the most devastating blow being the death of Lois Evans, the matriarch of the family, to a deep dive into dealing with the various hard, unexpected things we all face. Life throws many curves—whether the loss of a job or health due to the ongoing worldwide pandemic, or marriage and relationship issues, problems with children, even the recent racial and political unrest. The authors step together into a unique Kingdom Legacy partnership, opening themselves to the honest questions, raw emotions, and solutions they learned to cling to amid their various struggles as they honor their mother’s wish to work together. Through their bond and individual strengths, they demonstrate how even the most devastating tragedies can bring glory to God as He continues to meet their needs and build their faith.

Summary

" The Guardian

Qu’importe ! On chante, on danse, on pleure.

Summary

Funny stories. Make-you-cry stories. And all of them show us something about ourselves and our Savior we can never forget. -Dr. Tony Evans, President, The Urban Alternative, Senior Pastor, Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship Kids have a way of saying things adults would never say and revealing profound—even biblical—truths in their unfiltered, unedited commentary on the world. In this inspiring book, Jon Guager shares important lessons he learned about God by observing kids. Like the story of Joslynn’s tumble. When Joslynn was camping she falls down the camper’s stairs to the horror of her watching grandparents. But when she stands up and declares, "Let’s try that again," Jon Gauger (Grandpa) notices how even though Joslynn had failed at something, she was kissed, hugged, and comforted by her family. Gauger reminds us that this is how God responds to us when we seemed to have failed "big time." Each anecdote teaches the Christian a familiar truth through a less familiar vehicle, making this giftable book fresh and fun.

Summary

Every serious student of the Bible desires to understand the holy text, discover biblical principles, and apply the truths to his or her life. Romans: A Pentecostal Commentary, by Christian author Dr. Matthew N. O. Sadiku, is designed to help students, pastors, and Bible teachers understand the book of Romans in a clear and simple manner. Working from the popular New International Version (NIV), Dr. Sadiku provides helpful, verse-by-verse commentary for the book of Romans in a straightforward, simple style. Because the approach is uniquely Pentecostal, Dr. Sadiku adheres to the doctrine of biblical inerrancy and adopts a literalist approach to the interpretation of this biblical text. Romans is considered by many to be one of the most important books in the Bible, as well as the most transformative; it was used as the battle cry of Martin Luther against legalism and superstition during the Reformation. Dr. Sadiku explores new theories on Pauls letters to the Romans and supports his interpretations with historical and cultural background information from the Scriptures and outside sources. Dr. Sadiku also shares some of the blessings and lessons learned from his study. More than a commentary, this engaging text will deepen your understanding of Romans and Christ himself.
